Ashamed to be a citizen of a nuclear-armed state

A week ago today it was Hiroshima Day, the day when the world remembers the over 70,000 people in the Japanese city of Hiroshima who were killed by an atomic bomb dropped by the USA on 6 August 1945.  Anne McCullagh-DLyske, war tax resister and Conscience Executive Committee member, attended a vigil in Edinburgh.

Last Monday was Nagasaki Day.  We remembered the 40,000 people killed in Nagasaki by the atomic bomb dropped by the USA three days later on 9 August 1945.  Many thousands of people from both cities died from radiation-related illness in the months and years after the bombs were dropped.
